In celebration of Barbie’s 51st birthday, Mattell has re-created SuperStar Barbie and is now offering the doll at the 1959 price of just $3 through 3/13. You should be able to find the doll for this price at Target and Toys R Us, among other retailers.
Update: I was at Kohl's today and while they are not advertising it, they too are offering the SuperStar Barbie and other Barbie dolls for just $3.00.
What a great savings, especially if you have an additional discount to use at Kohl's right now, or even Kohl's cash, you can get this doll cheap. Think Easter basket, birthday gifts or even Christmas (yeah I said it).
