The new hype for kids these days seems to be rubberband shaped things called Silly Bandz.
My 7 year old loves these and for me, trying to find them has been, well in a nut shell, CRAZY! Everywhere is sold out of them - everywhere! I have been calling, driving, checking on-line, you name it, and none to be found anywhere.
Until now - I got the scoop that the 99¢ store in the old Northway Mall (in Colonie, New York) (behind Staples) has them (12 in pack for $1.50).
Also, Treasure Ayeland in Colonie Center (729-4159) just got a shipment in today. They have glow in the dark, and other varieties. Prices starting at .39¢ each, 10 for $3.00 or $14.99 for a tube of 72.
I just got my girls some - so go get yours some too.
