DAVID ARCHULETA: The Other Side of Down {Music Review and Giveaway} (11/15)

I love music, every and all kinds, moreso now that I am older. I was given the opportunity to review David Archuleta’s new cd, “The Other Side of Down”. You may be thinking, hmm, who is David Archuleta? Remember that cute little brown haired boy on American Idol, you know the one who when he opened his mouth, the sound that came from it was soothing, beautiful music. Who knew that little guy could belt out some awesome music???

My favorite song on the entire CD is “The Other Side of Down”. I love the upbeat tempo, the words, the beat, just everything about it. The entire cd is great and would be a fantastic addition to anyone’s music collection.

Track Listing:
1. The Other Side Of Down (3:13)
2. Something ‘Bout Love (4:22)
3. Elevator (3:24)
4. Stomping The Roses (3:01)
5. Who I Am (3:44)
6. Falling Stars (3:35)
7. Parachutes And Airplanes (3:33)
8. Look Around (3:26)
9. Good Place (3:25)
10. Complain (3:24)
11. Things Are Gonna Get Better (3:14)
12. My Kind Of Perfect (3:37)

My 8 year old, Kylie, loves this cd and regularly goes into her room, turns on her stereo (yes, we still have the old-fashioned stereo system in our house), and starts singing and dancing. I, at times, join her in dance and song. This cd is catchy for all ages, young and old.  It brings rhythm to all bodies and truly is a great cd to have.

KT TUNSTALL: TIGER SUIT {Music Review}

Oh the genras of music.  Growing up, I truly only liked one type of music - Heavy Metal.  Yes, I was that crazy rock-n-roll chick who head banged and went to lots of concerts (can't picture it, can you?)

Now, as a mom of 3, a wife, and aged (still young though I might add), I still like heavy metal music, though I like a wider assortment.

I was given an opportunity to review KT Tunstall's new cd:  Tiger Suit.  While I have heard of KT Tunstall before, I truly never continuously listened to her music, until now.  This album is amazing.  Her voice, the ballads, very relaxing, yet edgy (is that possible, yes, yes it is!).   This is now an album I listen to over and over in the car,together with my girls liking a few of their songs too.

Here are some facts about KT Tunstall that you may know and do not remember, or you may not know and now do:

* KT is a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum, Scottish-born singer-songwriter

* Tiger Suit was released October 5th and her rollicking first single "Fade Like A Shadow" is already a Top 20 hit at radio.  (I love this song!)

* KT will be on tour this Fall (10/31-12/1) playing 17 US cities. Tickets are on sale now.

Sounds of Tiger Suit
Tiger Suit heralds the beginning of a new musical adventure for KT. Organic instrumentation is blended with dance-friendly textures, the results of which she has dubbed “Nature Techno” to encapsulate the album’s collision of raw, upfront rootsiness and sleek electronic textures.  Check out the video here.
